G.M. Campbell Bsc, Bsc( Hons), DPsych( Clinical) MAPS
Dr Campbell is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society and APS College of Clinical Psychologists. She is endorsed as a clinical psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
She maintains these associations by undertaking regular professional development and adhering to the strict ethical guidelines stipulated by the Australian Psychological Society.
Dr Campbell completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Southern Queensland. Her 4th year thesis focused on the core of effective leadership skills. Her doctoral thesis examined Age-related Associative Memory Declines in Short-term Recall.
She has received years of clinical training in a variety of scientific psychological treatment interventions, including Cognitive-behaviour therapy ( CBT), Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), Mindfulness Meditation, Solution Focused therapy, as well as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy ( DBT) . Dr Campbell focuses on person centered, strength- based approaches which targets thinking styles, emotional management and behavior patterns to produce meaningful and lasting improvement in psychological health.
She maintains an integrated approach to psychological service provision and has over a decade of counseling experience, working with children, adolescence, adults and couples. During her doctoral training she worked in a Mental Health Hospital and provided assessment and treatment to adults experiencing severe mental health conditions. She also worked in a number of Aged Care Residences as well as in Private Practice, and provided both group and individual therapy.
Prior to becoming a psychologist, Dr Campbell worked for many years across a broad range of Services including, child and family welfare, youth justice conferencing, working with people with intellectual disabilities, and crisis counseling
